Troubleshooting

”Invalid API Key” Error

  • Make sure you’re using the full API Key, not just the name
  • Verify the API Secret was copied correctly
  • Check that the API key is active in Coinbase

”Permission Denied” Error

  • Ensure “Trade” permission is enabled
  • Verify you selected the correct wallet accounts
  • Try recreating the API key with proper permissions

”Authentication Failed” Error

  • The API Secret might be incorrect
  • Remember that Coinbase only shows the secret once
  • Create a new API key if needed

Coinbase Pro vs Coinbase

Coinbase Pro has been merged into Coinbase Advanced Trade. If you had Coinbase Pro API keys, you may need to create new ones in the unified Coinbase platform.

Security Best Practices

  1. Use App-Specific Keys — Create a dedicated API key for Mayson
  2. 2FA Required — Keep 2FA enabled on your Coinbase account
  3. Monitor Notifications — Coinbase sends alerts for API activity
  4. Regular Review — Check your API keys periodically
